What other names did your parents consider for you?
My mothers maternal grandparents were named Doris and Ira. They were German. My dad's favorite flower is the iris and with this knowledge, my mom combined her beloved grandparents names and decided to name me Iris. My dad was really set on naming me after both of my grandmothers so I ended up being Mary Patricia but I really like the idea of Iris much more. It's so unique.

Do you read the Sunday paper? Which one(s)?
I used to read the New York Times every day when I worked at Starbucks. I read the Dallas Morning News at home but my most consistent news source is CNN.com. I just like to read whatever I can about what's going on in the world.

What books did you love as a child?
Submitted by hearts.
I loved The Chronicles of Narnia, the A Wrinkle in Time series, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and Watership Down. I read all of these books in 5th grade and I think that was when I realized how much I enjoyed reading. Throughout elementary school, I was an "advanced reader" and having to read chapter books to all my admiring teacher and parent fans seemed like a chore more than anything. Watership Down is 400-something pages and it took me about a month to read it but it is still hands down my favorite book of all time. I loved it and I was so proud that I finished that whole thing. After that, I couldn't find enough to read.
Are you a re-gifter? Have you ever re-gifted?
Submitted by Sandals.
I don't think I have ever re-gifted. I get too paranoid that they will notice. Lauren ALWAYS gets re-gifted and she ALWAYS knows so I would never even try with anyone. I have a bad habit of just throwing away crappy gifts though. I can't even keep them because they just make clutter. I get a lot of cheap bath products or clothes that I really don't want. When I was 14, my grandmother gave me a pink t-shirt that had the word ANGEL across the front in rhinestones with an intricate rhinstone pattern around the word. I Goodwill-ed that thing quick.

Have you ever Googled your own name? How did you feel about the results?
Submitted by elen.
Yes and my Vox is the first thing that comes up. I was googled all the time on my old blog. "Tricia McCoy blog" was the most common search and I was found rather easily even though my blog then was on the 3rd page or so. Now, when you type in Tricia McCoy, I'm right there, no effort required. I don't like that my blog comes up first because there are people on the internet that I would rather get away from but I suppose it's flattering that they have nothing better to do than search a teenage girl on Google and read all my interesting stories! Oh well, that's the risk I take by having a (mostly) public internet blog.
What's your sign? What do you think of astrology and horoscopes?
OOOKAY! This question is ridiculous. When I saw it, I immediately said to myself "Self, you are NOT going to answer that ridiculous question." So I didn't. For like 8 hours. But now here I am and it is only to say how silly I think it is. HOROSCOPES ARE NOT REAL! Everytime I am reading Cosmopolitan or Teen Beat and see the horoscope section, I read mine for July...which is CANCER :) and I think "Wow! That's sooo true! OMG This must be real!" Then I read the next one (Leo) and I think "Whoa, is this one mine TOO?? It's sooo acurate." Then I realize, by some far stretch of the imagination I can make every single one apply to me. I have been on newspaper staffs in my life and when we had a horoscope, guess what? This little Guatemalan girl named Laura Andrade MADE THEM UP every month. By her self. No research required.
