James got to go trick-or-treating with our neighbor, Weston. He is in 6th grade AKA elementary school and Jimmy is in 7th. You know, big junior high guy. When Weston came over to get James, we were all pleasantly surprised, or shocked by his costume. It was HILARIOUS! I suppose you have to know Weston personally to get the full effect of his outfit. He's an interesting character. My mom was hysterical which was fun because she doesn't laugh as much as I think she should! After daddio carved my pumpkin for me, I went out to eat sushi at this new restaurant called Geisha. The owner is a customer at Wachovia and he came in about a week ago handing out fliers for FREE FOOD on HALLOWEEN! And, not only was it free food, it was free sushi! Shortly after arriving, I decided it wasn't going to be free. Mainly because there was 1 other couple in the whole restaurant and it wasn't very festive. Needless to say, our little meal cost about $55 but it was so very delicious. The rest of the night was spent watching Lost In Translation under a blanket next to a fire that really did make a good effort to be there, he just wasn't very big. Poor fire. I tried to look back on all the Halloween's of my life and I don't have the best memories. I had a couple of good ones during elementary school but then my mom got on this whole kick about how Halloween was evil, threw away all of our decorations and didn't let us dress up. She finally got over that, but it seems to me that I was grounded on Halloween every year during junior high all the way up to 10th grade and I have been to cool for Halloween since then. I decided to make up for lost time this year which I really didn't but it was a good day so I am satisfied. Maybe next year, I'll really go for it.
Happy Halloween!
